Sinan Paşa, Maârifnâme ’nin “Sebeb-i Te’lîf-i Kitâb” bölümünde Tazarru‘nâme ’den bahsederken tedristen artakalan zamanını boş geçirmeyip birkaç ay içerisinde bu eseri meydana getirdiğini, Hakk’ın övgüsünde aklına gelenleri yazdığını, konusunun da, “Esası usûl-i meşâyih-i hakîkat üzerine vuruluptur ve binası kavâid-i ehl-i tarîkat üzerine konuluptur” cümleleriyle tasavvufî bir mahiyet taşıdığını belirtir. Bütünüyle mensur bir münâcât sayılabilecek olan eserde paşa dünyadan âhirete kadar süren uzun yolculukta önce Hak’tan lutuf, sonra peygamberlerden, Hz. Muhammed’in âl ve ashabından, dört imamdan ve tarikat ehlinden mânevî yardım dilemekte, öldükten sonra kitabını okuyacaklardan rahmet ve Fâtiha istemektedir. Yer yer hikâyeler, kıssalar ve nasihatlerle bezenmiş eserin kütüphanelerde bulunan yazmalarının çokluğu büyük bir rağbet gördüğünü düşündürmektedir. Eserin ilmî neşrini Mertol Tulum gerçekleştirmiştir (Ankara 2001). Sinan Paşa üç dilin unsurlarının özellikleriyle yazdığı bu eserinde kuvvetli, âhenkli ve tabii bir üslûp kullanmıştır. Yoğun secilerle süslediği nesrinde kafiye başta olmak üzere nazmın birçok özelliğini nesre taşımıştır.
